The Oaks CE Learning Federation and Bartley C E Junior School Attendance Policy

Why is regular school attendance so important?

In order for your child to achieve their very best in all aspects of school life, a high level of attendance is essential. At The Oaks CE Infant Federation and Bartley C of E Junior School, we strive for excellence in all that we do. To constantly strive for a goal of 100% attendance for all our children is a key part of this.

We are committed to providing an education of the highest quality for all our pupils/students and endeavour to provide an environment where all pupils feel valued and welcome. Parents and pupils play a part in making our school so successful. Every child has a right to access the education to which he/she is entitled. Parents and teachers share the responsibility for supporting and promoting excellent school attendance and punctuality for all.

Parent and carers are central to their child’s educational success. Through enabling their child to take full advantage of the educational opportunities offered at The Oaks CE Infant Federation and Bartley CE Junior School, it is vital that your child is at school, on time, every day the school is open unless the reason for absence is unavoidable.

By promoting a positive attitude and placing high value on punctuality and regular good attendance, parents will naturally instil and maintain good habits from the outset. The routines children develop around attendance and punctuality at school are the same as the expectations of any future employer in the world of work. High attainment, confidence with peers and staff, and future aspirations depend on good attendance.
