Why should my child join?

What is the Children’s University™?

The New Forest & Southampton Children’s University objectives are to raise aspirations for all children and ensure they achieve their full potential.

It is a national scheme that promotes and celebrates quality out-of-school learning through participation in activities at places such as after-school clubs, sports clubs, arts clubs, tourist attractions as well as local businesses and places of work.

All of the activities are checked by us to ensure that they promote high quality learning and, more importantly, are fun.

Each child that joins the scheme will receive a Passport to Learning in which to record the time they spend at Learning Destinations.

Once they complete 30 activities they will obtain the first award and will be invited to a very special Graduation Ceremony to receive their award from the New Forest & Southampton CU Chancellor & Paralympian Aaron Phipps.

Children’s membership is organised through their school. Your local Children’s University (CU) is the New Forest Children’s University.
