Spring 2 New Life

March 11th, 2019

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Swallow’s class.  We have been finding out facts about reptiles, what they are, what they look like and how they move. We have been looking at lots of fact books and film clips to find out more about reptiles.  The Swallows have also enjoyed a wonderful story about Leon the Chameleonthis week. Finally if you know someone that has a pet reptile that could visit our school please let the school office know. We look forward to sharing our work with you at school in a few weeks time.

The wise man and the foolish man

January 25th, 2019

Our RE unit this half term focuses on Jesus as a story teller. We know that some story’s teach us or have a message. Today we have learnt that Jesus told stories to teach people about God, himself and the life God wanted them to lead. 

We have heard the story of The wise man and the foolish man and how the wise man built his house on the rock but the foolish man built his house on the sand. We have been building strong houses like the wise man and on Monday we will try them out standing on the sand and also on the rock(Tarmac).

Gymnastics

A busy first week back

January 10th, 2019

The Swallows have had a busy first week back at school and have thrown themselves into our storytelling project. The children have also been learning about addition and practising this in a variety of ways including rolling 2 dice and then adding the dots.

The children have been finding about quilling and have looked at the work of a quilling artist called Yulia. The children then had a go had a go at making their own pieces of 3 d art and they look great. Well done Swallows!

After a wonderful nativity storytelling by the Swallows class and some impressive singing in the church for the school performance of Born in a Barn the children enjoyed some festive crafts and a surprise visit from Santa!

Praizin hands

Writing Christmas cards

We have been busy making and writing our Christmas cards this week. The children have been using the letter sounds and shapes they know to help them write their own cards.

This helps the children to write for a particular purpose. They look great!
