Our garage experts loved their visit yesterday. They saw the old oil come out of a car that needed it changing and the new oil going in. They experienced lots of tools and used some on a car wheel. They pressed buttons to lift the ramp and car up high and even went on the ramp as it was raised! They came back sharing lots of new knowledge and information they had gathered!Continue reading
The last visit of the week was to the Alpacas. We learnt about what they eat, what their fur feels like and the fences that are used to keep the Alapacas safe and protect the chickens. The children would love to tell you more about their visit so do come and ask!Continue reading
Today it was a visit to the Woodyard. After a wet and windy walk the children learnt how the trees were cut into different pieces and how every part of the tree is used, nothing is wasted not even the sawdust!

What a treat for our senses as we walked into the small kitchen which is New a Forest Cakes. The smell was amazing as we feasted our eyes on fruit cakes , Madeira sponges, iced cakes and amazing cupcakes!

As part of our Out of the Window project a group of us went to visit the Empress of Blandings Pub.
We learnt a great deal as we asked our questions. I wonder if you know why it is called The Empress of Blandings? The Lapwings found out today and they came back and shared their expert knowledge with the rest of the class.

We spent a couple of weeks perfecting re-telling a story in small groups. We had a group tell Jack and the Beanstalk, 2 Gingerbread Man groups, 2 Bear Hunt groups and a 3 Little Pigs group.
