We had an artist from Southampton art gallery visit today and we learnt how to make a head out of clay!
We carefully followed the instructions we were given and are very proud of our results.

The children in Lapwings are very worried to learn the news that portraits of the queen have been stolen!
After discussing what we should do next, the children decided that they would come to the rescue and replace the portraits themselves!
This will mean lots of hard work learning all about portraits and how to draw them.

We have had a lovely couple of weeks back at school! We have been working on using our apparatus safely and improving our balance. We really enjoy climbing the wall bars and walking along the beams!Continue reading
We have had a fabulous couple of days in Lapwings enjoying our Christmas celebrations. We enjoyed taking part in Christmas activities in our class and the Swallows and Kestrels yesterday. We had a delicious Christmas dinner and had a visit from Father Christmas! He brought us some brilliant gifts for our classroom and we have loved playing with them today!

Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to come and share their children’s learning today. The children were so proud to be able to show off their maps, writing, sketches, Victorian day photos and of course their giant hall map!
Thanks too for finding the time to create the fabulous models of your homes. We were super impressed and it created a great opportunity for discussion about our area. We are delighted with your feedback and it’s wonderful to hear how many children have taken more interest in the world around them and have been sharing their learning at home with you.
