Congratulations to our 3 girls who worked really hard representing the Oaks Federation at the football tournament today. They lost their final to Calmore but played exceptionally well and came away with a silver medal.

Red Nose Celebration

Kestrels celebrated Red Nose Day by making Red Nose jellies, they were delicious and we wrote some brilliant instructions on how to make them.

Balancing

March 15th, 2019

Today, Kestrels used their balancing skills whilst using the big apparatus in P.E. They remembered to have three points of contact and to make sure they had straight arms and legs when balancing.

Trim Trail Opened!

March 12th, 2019

Copythorne all gathered outside to watch Mrs Daniel and Lucy Baker cut the ribbon to officially open the new Copythorne trim trail. The children were very excited and managed to have a climb. ‘Great fun’ ‘loved it’ ‘my favourite was the wobble board’ ‘can’t wait for playtime’ these were some of the children’s comments. A very big thank you to the PTFA for raising the funds to buy this equipment.

Kestrels Explorer Quiz

March 12th, 2019

Kestrels welcomed parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles to their Explorers Quiz. They had to work in teams, like Bertie Bee to answer the questions which were composed and read out by the children. Kestrels did offer their expert knowledge to help the adults answer the tricky questions. Well done to all the adults who took part, the popcorn and crisps helped! The winning team was ‘Just Us’ who won by 1 point!

Drop Everyhing And Read! Kestrels have started to literally drop everything and start reading. They are enjoying reading chapter books especially after lunchtime. It’s great to see the children engrossed in their books.

Alien Landings!

Kestrels have been busy designing and making their own aliens. They had to think about what they looked like and what type of creature they would be. After making their alien models in clay they wrote descriptive passages. Great models Kestrels.
